Maker’s Mark 46 Cask Strength

Though aging in cooler temperatures is pivotal for Maker’s Mark 46, developing the Maker’s Mark 46 finishing process was all about finding the right wood and determining how to treat it. Other than wood type, several factors can affect oak’s impact on a bourbon, like how it’s dried, cooked and even cut. After much experimentation, adding seared French oak (or Stave Profile No. 46) to fully matured Maker’s Mark was just what Bill, Jr., was looking for.

Maker’s mark BRT-02 2022 Limited Release

To achieve the taste of Maker’s Mark, we’ve always hand-rotated our barrels from the top to the bottom of our rickhouse. This equal exposure to temperatures gives each barrel the consistent flavors Maker’s Mark is known for. BRT-02 is inspired by the cooler bottom of the rickhouse and uses French oak staves to dial up the flavors developed over its final years of reaction. BRT-02 has a seasoned oak nuttiness combined with molasses, dark fruit, chocolate and baking spice.
