Angel’s Share Tasting Series Presented by Whiskey by John Howie

Come sample some of the award winning spirits from Owner John Howie and Owner/Distiller Erik Liedholm
Washington states world-class distillery
In the spirit of farmers from colonial times, who maximized local crops by making distillates from excess fruit and grain, we source nearly all of our ingredients from local farms. Ninety percent of the produce used for distilling Wildwood Spirits– from winter wheat, to Braeburn apples, to Douglas fir– is grown in Washington state. All our spirits are handcrafted in small batches in Bothell, Washington.
Mike Taib (Vice-Distiller) will be your host. Event is standing room only and limited availability.

The Dark Door Single Barrel
The Dark Door bourbon is made using organic non-GMO corn and white wheat from Washington State. It is aged for two years in new, high-char, Missouri barrels from one of the Nation’s most respected cooperages. Complex notes of toffee, caramel, orange flowers, and vanilla make this a fan-favorite whiskey.
The Dark Door 5 Year Single Barrel
We aged The Dark Door bourbon for 5 years– the specialty oak and extra time impart notes of vanilla, pralines, and white flowers to our award-winning bourbon for an even smoother and richer experience. Extremely limited single-barrel release.
The Dark Door Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon
We’ve finished this batch of The Dark Door in a hand-coopered American white oak barrel that previously housed Silver Oak’s acclaimed 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon. This exclusive oak enhances our award-winning bourbon with notes of black cherries paired with bitter elements from the tannins, making this Distinctive Barrel Series reminiscent of a Manhattan in a bottle.
Rendition 5 Year Rye
Rendition, a five-year straight rye whiskey, is one of the newest (yet oldest!) additions to Wildwood Spirits Co.’s portfolio. Finished in barrels that previously housed the distillery’s award-winning bourbon, The Dark Door, Rendition unites aromas of citrus, cinnamon and baking spice with flavors of white pepper, mocha and vanilla for a lengthy, rich finish. The rye used in Rendition is harvested in Indiana and the spirit aged for nearly 5 years in the Midwest before making its way to Wildwood’s bourbon barrels. Rye is typically a very aggressive, or ‘hot’, spirit, with lots of spicy and savory notes; the months of additional aging in The Dark Door barrels softens these qualities, marrying them with the richness of bourbon, resulting in a delightfully smooth and refined rye experience.
The Professor 5 Year
The Professor is an Irish-style whiskey made with Washington winter wheat and malt. Distilled three times before aging, it spends three years in American oak barrels that previously housed Wildwood Spirits Co.’s award-winning bourbon, The Dark Door. The Professor is light in body and texture, with hints of caramel and marzipan winding around a floral backbone.
