We will also be offering a Hirsch Old Fashioned and Manhattan for $7 from 5:00pm-10:00pm. This event is standing room only and limited.
KEVIN ASLAN – HIRSCH HEAD DISTILLER
Kevin is an experienced distiller at Hotaling & Co. with a long history in whiskey, gin, and other spirit production. With a deep seeded passion for craft spirits, Kevin is hands on from start to finish in many aspects of both blending and distilling at Hotaling & Co and is the Innovations Distiller for several brands as well as the Head Blender for HIRSCH Selected Whiskeys. Kevin’s role includes but is not limited to, recipe development, formula, and new flavor testing, blending, trade education, and countless tastings of potential new spirit products. Kevin lives and works in San Francisco where Hotaling & Co. has its gin and innovations distillery.
In Kevin’s own words:
My favorite neighborhood in San Francisco is North Beach where you’ll find some of the most historic food and drink spots in the country. Some of my hobbies include collecting records from smaller artists, traveling, and thinking of new spirits ideas. Making spirits is what I am passionate about most and this hybrid role of being a blender as well as an innovator is where my ideas can come to life. Spending time in Kentucky and working with our fantastic distilling partners over the past few years has been a tremendous source of inspiration for me. I started in craft spirits, so I understand the desire to have an authentic product and it is clear the folks in Kentucky only strive for authentic, well-crafted spirits just at a larger scale than I was used to.
HIRSCH is the perfect brand for me to work on because I get to harness my knowledge of whiskey production and my palate to create blends and recipes that are balanced, nuanced, and thought provoking to those looking to step up their whiskey knowledge. Each HIRSCH label has detailed information of the whiskey liquid specifications that corelate with the batch number on our tax strip. These specifications change with each batch for each product from HIRSCH and it is a constant labor of love to simply share those details with our fans. I love HIRSCH for its legendary history, transparency, and evolving whiskey styles.
